Lars Ulrich

I’ve always said it’s more like a team getting to the Super Bowl than it is the individual geniuses. Metallica, like the Beatles, and the Stones, is a great team that cranked out music ALOT of people like. So why it’s a requisite that Lars be this incredible drummer is beyond me. He does what he does and it fits with his band and their music is part of the landscape. Can’t ask for more than that.

"so the most bestest Metallica drum sound was the Black Album?" were Gretsch Drums.
Ok. I'm cool with Lars 😁 I agree with him

With a Tama Bell Brass snare :)

Actually I was never really a fan of him I just reply to the threads about him made by others. I thought the video presenter made some good points but other than that no, I would not call that an obsession with Lars.

Except that you've created 2 threads about him in about a month.

Ok some people here seemed more obsessed in tracking what I do...

...instead of what you said. I'm not judging. Just adding a little correction to the matter.

Oh look, another Lars thread!
Yeah, the moderators are awesome when it comes to merging threads, though.

Edit: I see they did just that!

He also borrowed Rick Allen's Ludwig snare a few times for recording around that same time. It was either a Superphonic or a Black Beauty. I cant remember which.
Black Beauty, now owned by Jeff Rich, who was Status Quo's drummer for many years. Rick gave it to Jeff after Jeff had done some Leppard shows whilst Rick was recovering after his accident.

doggyd69b: Of course there are going to be haters. Don’t let them convince you not to post 24-minute videos you don’t actually care about and don’t even bother to summarize. This is a good use of your time.

Dancing is a healthy use of time.
So is drumming. but typing in this forum is not doing anything for you unless you are learning something...
I mostly visit the site while at work because my work consists of a lot of sit an wait (for a system to do certain things) so in the meantime I take tests (for higher level certifications), and when I get tired I just lurk around the site. The rest of the time I train junior people.. so to me, Drummerworld is as Getagrippa puts it "Therapeutic".

I use to have a job like that, one that allowed me to stay on forums all day while waiting for someone to ask me a question, present a problem to solve or have me evaluate something for payment.

Now my job is drumming. And a 4th band has asked me about drumming with them.
