K Custom Bottom Hi Hat

I just aquired one of these - a 14" K Custom bottom Hi Hat. I remember these being offered by Zildjian around 1994 a a single cymbal but also paired with either a K top or an A Custom top. If my recollection is correct, this cymbal may have even been offered with a quick beat top. I also believe that Zildjian offered these a single unit in order to be used with the top K hi hat in order to help the K be better suited for rock music and be a little more competitive with the 13" K/Z hi hats. The intent may have been one last attempt to compete with Paiste's Sound Edge hi hats before just all-out copying them.

Anyway, I don't ever recall Zildjian going all out to promote these and it may have been partly due to a labor intense process of machining the notches for preventing airlock.

Anyone know anything?

Its a cool, desirable piece IMO.... made back before bronze eating termites were globally eradicated and thus became extinct.

Cool it's got the half circle edge cutouts like the new A Custom Rezo Hats.

How does it sound paired up with other tops you have?
