Did you ask them when they're finally going to make a decent snare throw off? (runs for cover
As a Ludwig lover I’ll tell you - INDe makes it for them

Thanks for the post toonamike !! I just received my 18” floor tom factory fresh last week.
Our tour guide was Ludwig's design engineer, so, yes, we talked about snare throw offs. I think we will see some pretty cool stuff coming out of Monroe.
Did he mention anything about bringing back the Super Sensitive models?
Current models are brass.
Can any old chap off the street call/email and schedule a tour?
what is this exotic wood called?
I don't know if you inquired about this or not but I'd be interested to learn if Ludwig will ever be doing some sort of "Ringo" signature snare that replicates the 5.5x14 Jazz Festival he's used on just about every Beatles recording?
Thanks for the post!
Did you ask if they are ever going to resurrect the Speed King Pedals, or any of their other "classic" hardware, like the 1123-1 "Spur Lock" Hi Hat stand, or the 1400 flat base cymbal stands (Actually Tama beat them to it on the 1400's...............)
Do a Google search for Starr Festival snare drum.
I'm mentioned that I'm a big Beatles fan, so I got to see the prototype shell that became the Starr Festival. Ludwig went back to the manufacturing process used in the 50s and 60s, which involves sandwiching the ends of the shell, including the wrap.
This process isn't used any longer, so the Starr Festival snares were made by hand. Ludwig made all the shells, which were then assembled by Ringo's drum historian.

Weird. You'd think that it would be simple now that we have 3D printers.I DID ask about the Super Sensitive. Ludwig is nearly out of parts and no full strainers are in stock. The problem is the nylon / plastic piece that connects the throwoff to the snares. It sounds like Ludwig doesn't want to invest in a new version of the SS strainer.
We talked Speed King. It's the pedal I started on. There's no plan to bring it back. The thought is that the modern player doesn't want the Speed King's design.
