Is your crash ride necessary?

It started with my first set of cymbals. An old set of Zildjian A’s from the mid 60s. 16” crash and a 20” ride. At the time, all I knew is that one was big and one was small. The big one made the pings but it crashed if I beat the hell out of it.

Fast forward 38 years, I’m still a dope that likes pings and crashes from one cymbal. My current ride is a 22” 2002. Very cool ride and bell sounds but I really have to lean into it for crashes. I’d like to grab a couple of Giant Beats for the crash/ride experience. Different tonality than my 2002s and more suited as a multi use cymbal.

Memphis drum shop 1914 grams. I'm computer challenged or I'd bring it here 😥. I'm actually truly upset that I haven't put myself in my white leather jacket on the forum but I'm asking people to help me with that..it bugs the sh** outa me.. 😠

Bozo! What happened on this….we need details, man. How’d she sound?

For years i played heavier ride cymbals, without thought of actually crashing them. I eventually became enlightened and now play 21” k sweet, 20” k Constantinople med, and a 20” k const dark med/light. I must admit, i do miss my earth ride
