Installing a throwoff

I'll be installing a throwoff on a snare build soon and was wondering:

What height should a throwoff and butt plate be installed from the snare bed?

butt 1/3 rd of the way Up from Bottom edge
Strainer: depends on depth of shell
5" dead middle
6.5" lower closer to bottom edge
I dunno just guessing
