We learn a bit more of his early life as he reminisces about what life was like from the perspective of his different homes in different cities; and more.
There are no long drum performances so be warned if that is all you are looking for. The film has an interesting look and shade to it so if you are in to film or photography you may like it for that reason alone.

Cheers

Agreed! Just saw the documentary by accident yesterday while surfing. For those not familiar with his work, he really takes his art seriously and has a very philosophical outlook to drums, music, and life. Even if you couldn't care less about his music, it's an interesting glimpse into one of the art's modern masters.

I was confused as to why it was made public. Someone spent a lot of time creating that. To just give it away seems pretty bizarre to me.

Fantastic profile! Thank you for posting that. I love watching the videos of Nerve playing live and Jo Jo is definitely following a unique, creative approach.

I love how he adapted after initially thinking he'd be doing jazz in NY, and when that wasn't really much of an option he found his own niche. A progressive musician in every sense of the word.

Well.. outside of drummers and not even all drummers know who he is, there wouldn't be much of a chance of selling it to make your money back or even profit. And if the person that made it cares about it and thinks they did a great job i would want as many people to see it as possible. Just my .02..
