Sonor is my fave so I can use the SQ2 at significant cost but what would be your idea of pre-config standard sizes for your favorite manufacturer? Mine would be
22x14
10x8
12x9
15x14
16x16
I think the 14" floor tom catches too much flak this days
For me it would be:
-22x14"
-10x7"
-12x8"
-14x12"
-16x14
I've only owned one 14" tom/floor tom that I've been happy with. It's a Ludwig Element birch 14x14. Every other one I've owned (I typically buy used, and most kits seem to come with a 14") ends up sitting in a case in the corner, or being resold. For my tastes, a 14" is usually too high-pitched to be a floor tom, and too low-pitched to be a rack tom. I'm not anti 14" or anything. Just not my thing.

So clearly a lot of us like our kick 22x14
Drum companies take note! That size is so rare in lower end kits.
I have a 15x24 pearl session studio classic. It sounds great.15" depth for the bass drum please.
I want 14" and 15" toms (or floor toms) to have SEVEN lugs instead of eight.
