How old is my Slingerland Nashville Radio King?

Hi folks,

I recently found a Slingerland Nashville Radio King 14x5.75" snare on Gumtree and bought it.
I don't know much about this brand.

Does anyone know anything about these?
Wondering how old it might be- even a rough estimate.
Looks to be a maple shell.

Cheers.

Hi Gweteschdwummer’s, between 1995 till sometime 1998 in Nashville, Tenn. Nice looking snare. How does she sound?

Thanks chaps, that is very helpful.

Any idea of value?
I didn't pay a lot for it.

It sounds great- quite dry, lovely crack.
I'm going to get the CS off it and try an Ambassador.

Hello again Gwetschdwummer, this small build era of Slingerland drums was suppose to be one of the best pre 70’s through early 80-82. Radio King’s are all maple. IMO and this is just my opinion $300 plus. Slingerland Nashville drums were only made there for 2 ½ years or so and the sound and quality was there.

Hi Gwetschdwummer, I have been doing a little digging on the snare for you and have two questions.

Does your drum happen to have a paper tag inside? Do you see anything that says StudioKing by chance?

Thanks, Force3005
