Now I'm "all Meinl all the time". I currently have two kits, both are Ludwig, with Ludwig Atlas hardware. I use a DW double bass pedal, high hat, and Pork Pie throne.

Starting from when I was a kid in this order:

1) Cosmic Percussion with Slingerland Snare, Zildjians
2) Roland VDrums TD10 (my dark age of electronics)
3) Roland VDrums TD20 (continuing my dark age of electronics)
4) Yamaha Stage Custom Birch and Zildjian A's (entered the light lol)
5) Gretsch Renown with Zildjian A's/K's
6) DW Collectors with Zildjian A's/K's
7) Tama Starclassic Performer with Zildjian A's/K's
8) Mapex Mars Birch with Zildjian A's/K's
9) (Back to) Yamaha Stage Custom Birch with Zildjian A's/K's
10) Pearl Session Studio Classic with Zildjian K's (Custom Hybrid)
11) Mapex Saturn V Exotic with Meinl Classic Custom Dark Cymbals
12) FINAL (I hope) Return to Yamaha Stage Custom Birch with Meinl Classic Custom Dark Cymbals

Hardware: Tama Speed Cobra 910 pedals and HH. All Yamaha and Gibraltar stands.

Basically, I've played just about everything in studios and had all these kits and SOLD all of them except #11, but I keep returning to Yamaha, to me they are the best and I've learned from experience in the studio (10 albums in the past 8 years) and so many gigs that I really love birch drums.

I have a pretty short list.

Drums:

Slingerland is my primary kit. Originally a Stage Band kit bought at Manny's Music in NYC when I was 13 in White Marine Pearl. 4 piece kit with 12" and 14" toms. Added a 13" tom later on when I found someone selling a Stage Band tom in WMP on eBay.

Premier - I added a 16x16 tom to the Slingerland kit.
Remo - Originally bought two Roto Toms but am now just using the small one as my high tom to give me a 7 piece kit.

Cymbals:

Zildjian
Paiste

Sticks:

Pro Mark
Vic Furth

Basically 5A's for playing and 5B's for practice sticks. Also Vinnie Colaiuta Signatures for playing as well.

Drums:
kits: Tama, Pacific, Sonor, Mapex
snare drums: all of the above (came with the kits), plus: Legend, Pearl, Ahead, Yamaha, another Tama (vintage Imperialstar)
favorite: probably Tama

Cymbals: Zildjian, Sabian, Paiste, Wuhan, Dream. No clear favorite

Misc. percussion: LP, Pearl, Meinl, World Beat Percussion, Rhythm Tech. No clear favorite

Hardware: other than the kit brands, Gibraltar, Pearl
favorite: Tama, but they're all fine

Sticks: Pro-Mark, for as long as I can remember. I've had some good Vic Firth (Omar Hakim) and Vater, but, the 808s were my go-to for nearly 30 Years, and I recently switched to 707s.

Heads- Remo since forever, until I got a set of Evans heads on a used kit and Aquarian on a used snare, and liked them just as much. No clear favorite.

Drums: Rogers, Yamaha (5), Pacific, DW, Ludwig, Tama, Legend, Magstar
Cymbals: Zildjian, Sabian, Paiste, Avanti, Stagg, Chamber,
Hardware: Gibraltar, Tama, Yamaha, DW, Ludwig,
Sticks: VicFirth, Regal Tip, ProMark, Headhunter(rods), Ahead,
Heads: Remo, Evans, Aquarian

Drums (in order of ownership): Lido supreme (haha), Ludwig, Yamaha, DW, Q, Ludwig.
Snares ("): Slingerland, Ludwig, Tama, Ludwig.
Hardware ("): Ludwig, Pearl, DW
Cymbals (") Zildjian, Paiste
Sticks ("): Whatever I could grab, Regal Tip, Vater.
Heads("): Ludwig, Remo, Evans, Remo.

I may have a few errors here, but as best I can remember right now:

- New Apollo 4-piece kit in white marine pearl
- A mixture of Apollo and Ludwig drums in several different colors
- New 1975 kit of Ludwig Classics in white marine pearl (Loved them. My very first new Ludwig kit)
- New 1980s CB700 Mark Series drums in wine red, 7 piece. (Made by Pearl for Kaman Corporation)
- New 5-piece kit of Pearl Exports in smoky chrome (long lug version) - this kit sucked.
- New 5-piece kit of Yamaha Stage Customs (long-lug version) - like the Exports, these sucked, too
- Used 1964 set of Ludwig Classics in champagne sparkle. (Loved this kit, but not loud enough for what I was then playing.)
- New custom-ordered 6-piece set of Yamaha Recording Customs, tobacco sunburst finish. Exceptional.
- Used kit of Yamaha Maple Customs, natural maple, 4-piece. Exceeded the RCs in overall sound, especially the bass drum.
- New kit of Mapex Saturn Pro in bleached white maple finish, 5-piece w/all Mapex hardware. This set sucked.
- New kit of Pacific CX Maple drums in white onyx, 7-piece kit. Extraordinary in every way. Used them for 20 years now.
- New NOS set of Conway-era Slingerland Radio King/Concert King 7-piece in large-chip white marine pearl wrap. Exceptional.
