How big is your band room

Looking to see what ya'll have for space for band rehearsal.

I set my e-kit up last night in the new room (~8'x12') and it took up a great deal of space. I did not set it up where I would put my acoustic kit, but I visualized it and I may need to go into the other room if I was to do full band rehearsals.





Is your space too cramped or too empty?

When I was gigging our jam room was about 15' x 20'. There was maybe 3' x 3' removed from one corner for a closet outside the room. We (4 of us) basically each had a corner. It was plenty of space. My carpet for that kit was 6' x 9'.

Our "Den" is now the "Music Room". It's an irregular hexagon, 14' at the base, 7' at the top, and 10' in depth.

I use a noisy steel shed. It works great for band practice.

Mine is 8m x 8m -> 64m² or 26ft x 26ft -> 680ft². It has two risers of maybe 7m² and a vocal cabin of the same size, each of them sitting in their own corner. Corner #4 is a sofa corner. Plenty for rehearsing together with 5-6 musicians and sprawling doing my own productions.

the metal band plays in our guit and drummers fully finished basement, in a room that was actually built as a jam room...probably 50' long by about 30' wide

my surf-punk band plays in our keyboard players "bottom of the spilt level" room...probably 13'x15'. it is moderately cramped

my country band plays in our guit players basement...probably 20x20. Just 3 of us

One band we practiced in the bassist tiny living room. Man that was crowded and all to close and loud. You really need some space with electric guitars and bass.

That tears it! The next place we move to has to have a barn.

my home office / home studio / man cave is 14' x 15' with a vaulted ceiling that runs from 10' to 16'. I have a pair of desks (1 work laptop and 1 my DAW setup) in a corner, electric guitar and bass set ups in another. Acoustic guitars and Upright bass in the next... and my kit in the last somewhat blocking the closet.

We rent a church one evening a week. It holds hundreds, so no problems with space.
