I am Kaan Çelen, a disabled drummer from Türkiye.
The release of “Fellowship,” debut album of A.K.A., on digital platforms is just around the corner, scheduled for February 10.
The band, formed by the Azerbaijani pianist and composer Afshin Alizadeh, drummer Kaan Çelen, and the seasoned bass player Alper Yılmaz, recorded the album at Hayyam Studios on April 8-9, 2022. Bringing its members’ distinct sounds and touches together to connect with the audience melodically on a platform of universal language of music, A.K.A. attempts at uniting jazz and modern music in their recording of five tunes.
Alizadeh on his piano with his lyrical compositions, Çelen on his drums and as the co-composer of the title tune “Fellowship,” and Yılmaz on his bass and as the composer of “Junk Mail” salute the audience with this album!
