Gretsch was more a city/orientated/ cab ride or catered to the cab loader drummers

Gretsch involvement in say (supplying/going after) the grade school / high school band market (compared to Sling/Ludwig)
was a surprise when I saw my local public elementary school had 60s RB 10x14 etc. Blue sparkle Gretsch marching drums..one day at a parade..I noticed and said whoa. "still in service"..
Might be I don't think (...) Gretsch were "that big" they had to find "niche".
Altho they did have a nice largish, Building/ couple floors/ in New York..to build their wares.
Still there with the big Gretsch name on top -To best of my knowledge.
This past July 30th 2014 I had a unique opportunity to take a step back into Gretsch Company history.
