Good bass guitar tutorials

Hey guys

We all know plenty of cool online teaching stuff for drums – drumeo, mike johnston, and a lot of engaged drummers everywhere.
Does anyone of you that also play bass know of similar channels from and for bass players? How to create cool basslines, how
to work on your left hand technique, how to improve your sound, etc. etc.

Any tipps would be appreciated!

(No, I'm not quitting playing drums, never will 😅!!)

Edit: Of course I could search youtube or google, but you know, the real quality stuff is harder to find ...

ask @JimmyM "ampeg and Tolex specialist" : )
nickname "four fingers".

If I ever wanted a bass player it'd be Jimmy

I was a semi-pro bass player for a decade or two- what do you want to know? :)

Also, agreed on talk bass, lots of useful there.

I should play my bass more. I definitely like playing it more than guitar, but it hurts my left hand after about 15 minutes because I'm not used to pushing down so hard on the strings. I don't have that problem with guitar. I have a creativity problem with guitar.

Scott's, also. Some lessons he talks a bit much on, but it's worth it for the lesson.
For learning covers, Konstantine something or other on YouTube. A heavy guy that never says a word. Always a pretty decent shot of the board for you to follow what he's doing and he has a plethora of basses used.

My fine motor isn't accurate or detailed enough for guitar. Bass, I'm much more adequate at. Maybe it's the string spacing and no pick needed.

I find that my Yamaha BB and my Squier short scale don't really need a lot of left-hand pressure. My kit J-bass needs a bit but the neck is also a lot chunkier. I gave up trying to muscle through heavy gauges - it's just not worth it even though I have strong hands.

I have an Ibanez Mikro, so short scale. I really like the thing in about 15 minute increments lol. I am mid/late 40s so it could be arthritis or something also.

I remember buying an Ibanez TMB-30 for a place that I worked for. Played it quite a bit and really enjoyed it. Ibanez do make excellent basses. Came with quite chunky strings from memory.

It's an odd one for me because I prefer heavier strings when I'm playing the guitar. I'm faster and more accurate with the extra tension. My PRS has 11s on it and that's no problem but the Ibanez with 9s isn't doing it for me at the moment. On basses I much prefer a lighter string, even if I'm using a pick.

I hate heavy strings on anything.

I don't play bass but when I listen to Lee Sklar I get excited to go out and buy a cherry burst Rickenbacker. He doesn't play bass..he creates magic.
Just the fact that he played on Spectrum puts him in my top five favorite bassists.

That's cool man! I don't know THAT specifically, I guess just some kind of mix between inspiration and knowledge
in order to make myself practice a bit again. Generally when I have time to practice, it will rather be on the drums
because I'm a drummer, but I'd love to make it happen to get my bass (and also my piano chops) kind of back
together, or even become a little bit better.
