Gong baths

Many moons ago I underwent a gong bath. The experience was quite awkward and absurd whilst giving me some good pub chat. I'm glad I went with it and maybe will again.

What are others opinions and experiences?

I’ve been to a few bronze singing bowl events, they can be quite pleasant. I don’t buy any of the hype, but it’s a nice soothing experience.

I thought this was about placing a ringing gong in water. It makes wild sounds.
"Now scrub....scrub.......scrub the gong.."

i like them. like some i dont care for the whole "energy healing" and stuff, but they help me switch off and relax :)

What was awkward about it, if it's ok to share that here?
I turned up dog tired in comfortable clothes to find myself in a room with other 5 bathers of the fairer sex. They were all there for a spiritual or emotionally cleansing experience, I was there for the dark transients and bright overtones.

We laid down on yoga mats and the gong master proceeded to play her gongs. I almost instantly fell into a fitfull sleep. At the end of the "bath" I come to with a stiffness in the middle area. We then sat around drinking green tea and talking about our experience.

Terrifying

Maybe you'd like it better if it were a 50/50 mix or all guys. ;)

The gong baths were popular at one of the Yoga studios I did a month session with. Unfortunately, I didn't get to do one, as they were an extra fee. The Yogi who did the gong baths played excellent singing bowls at the cool down section of her Vinyasa Flows.

Some say that 432 Hz is a frequency that can help with relaxation because it's close to the natural human frequency. Music with this frequency and slow melodies can help with emotional and physical relaxation. It may also help soothe the mind and reduce anxiety and restlessness. Some say that listening to 432 Hz music can release emotional blockages and expand consciousness.

Perhaps. I'm ok with female company but I found this awkward. Maybe it was the lying on the floor in a warm room thing. I think I'm more institutionalised than I care to admit. My root to spirituale cleansing may involve a bit of deviance

I heard tell of a giant paiste gong somewhere in Germany. I would like to visit it but cannot find further details

Ya, that's not at all true. Not even a little. Makes singing slightly easier, that's about it.
