Finally setup the DW 50th after a year but still injured.

Cleaning out a room in the house to setup my studio after a very long hiatus (can’t do it properly just yet) and even though I’m still injured I just wanted to stare at some drum for a while. I can play for as long and as much as I like as it helps my core but since I’ve lost so much muscle and muscle memory I am not drum or gig fit yet.

It will be at least 3-6 months before I am able to get back to playing regularly or even semi regularly but….it a nice thing to stare at.

Small update, having a epidural steroid injection in August that will hopefully help with the pain and in the lower back and help recovery. IMG_5651.jpeg62784508-960D-4633-B154-DFD6FE9B99E9.jpegEF2D00C9-2365-4B69-A74F-A8237D3BA235.jpeg

Been there bro, Just keep gettin' it back day by day.
three years ago I had an atrophied leg, lost my hand strength, couldn't stand up straight.
Three years of therapy and dogged determination doing exercises and stretching, I practice every day, band practices twice a week and my band is gigging. Just do what you can to get back your chops and be patient, things take time but time yields results

It is a beautiful finish on your kit. Hope you get better soon.

Yours is one of the first DW sets I've seen where I've really liked the lugs... they are stunning! You must be very proud to own that set! Way to go on your progress so far. Hang in there!

beautiful incredible DW set
I like the Antiqued look on the metal
(what did they call that? it's nice
Antique brushed on gold look, I think it's one of the nicest colours on a DW kit I have seen.

Oh man that sucks majorly, I am taking it easy but during my return to work program I have aggravated the injury so right niw I am balls deep in pain relief....it's non addictive so that's a plus.
hoping for a speedy recovery and the drums look great.
Thanks brother and they sound just as good as they look.

Thanks man, it is a little torturous walking past it and not really being able to lay in to it.

I am proud but it was a bittersweet day, the people who I would loved to have shared the experience with are no longer with me.

I'm sorry for your loss. May the new drums be a catalyst to rise up out of the ashes with better days ahead. Take care!
Thank you, my parents gave me a pretty good childhood especially when it came to supporting me and drumming.

To all the people who have commented and messaged me regarding my injury and of recovery I deeply thank you for the support so here is the latest update.

Just over a week ago I had some epidural steroid lumbar injections that went smoothly and for the first few days I felt great, then all the inflammation kicked in and I was in a large amount of pain for 3 days, feeling better now but might need 2-3 more rounds of these injections.

Short term I still can't do much but I am looking at a 2 year recovery period before I am back to pre-injury condition, that being said drumming is of the table for the time being.

Mate, that sucks. So sorry to hear that your road to recovery is set to be a long one. Dip your toe in here when you need and take it steady. You’ve got this! (y)

I really appreciate it brother you have no idea, right now I really have to focus on my mental health as it has taken an absolute beating over the last 9 months.
