Fibre skin heads

A bit more muted because they're slightly thicker. It gets close, but nothing can actually be calfskin. Brush playing on it sounds closer to calfskin than a regular ol' ambassador coated head does, I think. Very good alternative though, considering how much it actually costs to put real calf on a set of drums these days, not to mention the headache of just dealing with calfskin.

Fibersyns are sort of a niche head. I like them for a vintage sound, good with brushes, absolute killer heads on rope tension drums!

I had them on my Gretsch Renowns and will say they looked better than they sounded.
