Drum room door question

If you have a studio that is made of an outer shell and an inner room, with space between the two, and a door on the inner and one on the outer ... what do you do for the space between the two doors? Do you just leave it open? If the point is to not have any contact between the inner and outer shell I don't see how you can close that gap.

That's what I would do. I would also have the outer door open out, the inner door open in, and have them hinged on opposite sides of each other. You would still frame them normally, just individually instead of sharing the same jamb like a front door and its screen door.
