Hi guys and gals,I need a little advice,am am teaching my 16 old neice to play, and she is starting Jam with people and needs a double kick pedal, can anyone recommend one at the low and mid price points? I saw a pdp on line for 100.00,and I saw a gibraltar avenger for 199.00.

I believe I have heard good things about the avenger. Anybody know about any "sleepers"
or what to look for used with good availability?

Any advice recommendations appreciated.

I'd be looking on ebay or craigslist. You can find some great deals in the price range you are looking at on a better pedal that will last longer that she will be able to continue use as she progesses in her technique and skill. Something like a DW, Tama, Yamaha, the Mapex falcon has garnered some good reviews as well.

Definitley go used ... you will get a better pedal for a way better price. Pearl, Mapex, Tama are some of the brands I have had great luck with.

I'm pleased with my DW4000 double pedal and I only paid $100 for it used.

I would get her a brand new pearl 902.

I don't like the idea of 2nd hand double pedals because they can have excessive play in the drive shafts, which is very off putting, especially for a beginner looking to blame their gear when they get frustrated trying to learn double kick.
