Does any one know what this snare drum accessory is?

Maybe a.bumper to keep it from hitting the toms? Whatever it is it looks like it's removable.
Thank you..
That's what it looks like, but I'd like to know for sure if anybody out there has ever seen one of these. Yes definitely looks removable. Added to the snare.

Actually, it’s an antenna tuned into the spirit world. When activated, it lets you tap into the abilities of Buddy Rich and Neil Peart. However every time you use it, it deducts a day from your life. So use it wisely!

For those in the know, it’s called the SnareTenna. It’s all true, I swear! (fingers crossed behind my back)

And they're made in Snarestone. Yes, that is a bona fide real place. :ROFLMAO:
I believe the B-side to Spinal Tap’s Stonehenge was Snarestone. I’ve heard of that place as well. Isn’t it where there are a bunch of snare drums arranged into a circle of giant pi symbols? And twice a year, doesn’t the sun hit it at just the right angle to create the shadow of Buddy sitting on the toilet? That’s what I’ve heard.

Bought one new from Reverb this year. Didn't really do much good.

They make and sell new ones. Not sure brand., Pretty generic.

I think @jda has a self-made rash guard on his snare or tom. It's visible when he shows off his Gretsch kits. Maybe he'll dish on how it works.
I still have the 1970 catalog I was 14 with my "calculations" written in the margins on the Price List 😁
Fibes were ahead of their time at the time! and
"how long have I been playing drums??!!.. geeze!! like a century!!

oh yes yes yes You're talking about... my "No-Mo" Protectors...beautiful black leather ; ) with moccasin ties on my Broadkasters.
And...they are defunct - No More.. indeed.. But I bought 2

Wish I had two more for my red and aqua 66 sets but you can't buy them no mo.
Weirdly you'd think I'd have the second one on the second tom but it's on the floor tom. For when the "10 meets the the 14" which is never but could, 'just in' case.

Can just barely see it hanging on the 14 there->

Check out the cRashbar product from Helensson (note the double letter S). He is a one man operation but has some wonderful products (triggers, Synare kit, Headcaster video projection).

That actually would not be difficult to make. Leather scraps are readily available at craft and fabric shops -at least in my area. @jda is that made from real OR faux leather? Looks faux from the pic.

oh I hope not.. : )

"He took a piece of durable material, double-sided it, stitched a loop across the top and ran a piece of leather cord through it and tied it off on each side to the drums tension rods. The Finish Protector now hangs out of sight between the two drums, keeping them from making contact with each other."
