Dear DrummerWorld Friends,

I've begun a fundraising effort in order to produce a documentary about my teachers in Cuba, those who are aging and need their rich heritage of drumming and culture documented. I'll put the information here and hope you'll take a moment to check it out.

Have an amazingly sweet and loving Holiday Season!

Very best,

Chuck

A Call to Action from Keepers of the Flame Creator
Chuck Silverman

Keepers of the Flame is a documentary project about the elder statesmen of the Cuban musical genre called Rumba. The history and culture of these men and women, many in their 60s, 70s and 80s, needs to be documented now before it is too late. I hope you will consider contributing and also that you will share this information with your friends, mailing lists, websites, social media, etc. This kind act would be so very appreciated.

Thanks for your question. This documentary will focus primarily on rumba and its roots. If this project come to fruition, the next one will focus on the religious elements of Cuban drums.
