Do you know your disco? What song is this?

Please help me find this R&B song.

I'm pretty sure it was between 1978 and '80. The vocalist was female, that's all I really remember. (WAV file attached) at bottom of the post

Here is the intro as I remember it. The song begins with just drums for several bars as transcribed below. The (x) symbol denotes some type of electronic "dance" version of a cowbell, (that's the best I can describe it).

I added a .wav attachment. The ride bell is the wrong sound but close enough I guess.

Oh sorry, I did not notice that .wav file.

.

I can't play the .wav file. Can you attach it as a .mp3?

No, not Blondie. It was an R&B / disco tune. Much more R&B than disco though.

Sounds sort of like "Le Freak" from Chic. But heck it could be any similar disco song. Golly why'd you have to remind me of the disco years.

Don't know, but if noone knows I know a guy that I would bet a lot on knowing it.

Sounds very close to the chorus in "West End Girls" by Pet Shop Boys, the 110 tempo's about right although the song isn't really disco or R&B.

The first bar reminds me of 'They want you as a new recruit' from In the Navy by the Village People
