Well what are some good PDP Maple's? What about CX Maple Fusion?I don't know too much about DDrum, besides the fact they look pretty nice, but I would suggest going for a brand that has an exceptionally good rep. Especially if you're looking for maple.
Ludwig and PDP make pretty good priced maple kits, and they both are reputable dealers.
I would check out the Keystone series
what do you think of this vs pdp cx?I own three of the toms from that kit. 7x10 7x12 12x14
I love them!
They sound great. Nice tone, Long sustain, A lot of punch. The cast hoops are nice. The finish is very good. The bearing edges good. Good intermediate drums!
I bought the toms to use with a kit that I was putting together with some other drums.
I wanted a 16x20 bass drum instead of a 20x20 bass drum.
I wanted a shallower snare for the kit that I was making.
I also wanted shallow toms.
Nice drums! I am pleased with them. I have the Blue to Black fade toms.
Be aware that the hoops are powder coat painted and they will become marked up from play over time.
I was aware of that before I bought the toms.
The Duo Fade kits are discontinued so they are at a good price.
Here are some vids of the kits in action. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XlfIP6c7GlY
