So, I've had this 18" ZBT (don't say it) China since I got this first drum set of mine. It was used and had some minor cracks all around the edge, being a bit of a noob, I never payed any mind. Then I learned that cracks get worse like this http://img101.imageshack.us/img101/8130/img3890t.jpg so I drilled holes at the end of the cracks. My question is, would it be better to cut off the entire outer 1-1.5 inches or just keep drilling them for as long as I can. I just recently put the first crack of my own in there. As you can see, there is one king-daddy crack that's bigger than the rest.

I would just keep on doing what you are doing.
Sooner or later you will have to replace the cymbal.
It doesn't owe you anything so don't spend a lot of time repairing the pie.
Just replace it when a long crack forms.

That poor thing needs to be put out of it's misery, lol. I agree, just play it until it falls apart. If you keep drilling every crack, that will soon look like an Ozone.

+1....its a ZBT,with cracks.Doesn't get a whole lot worse than that.Drilling more holes will keep the patient on life support. The good side here is that,it's a china, and its suppose to sound trashy.Cheers
