Couple of more tunes with me singing

Playing around with the new PA system and recorded these. Sheryl Crow and Bruce Springsteen tunes this time. A little pitchy on both but will get the voice better with practice. You'll see that I took the advice of many of you and moved the mic to the left...much better. Still need to get a gooseneck extension for the mic. Drumming is basic but that too will hopefully improve with time.

Wow Mary! I watched the Springsteen one and how far you've come! I think you should just get a guitar player and you front the band! Excellent work!

Now you have the mic stand in the right place, now raise it up so the tilter is slightly over your head and have the boom arm drop down to your face. Then it won't be in the way of your Roto toms. Well done!

Looks to me like you have a firm grasp on singing and playing. Does it feel like it is getting easier at all?

Thanks everyone. Not sure I'm ready to front the band yet but I am having a ball. Not sure it's getting easier...I really haven't tried making the drumming as involved as it should be. I'm sure as I put more into that, it will get harder. And choosing songs I can sing is not so easy either. I'm still training the voice to get used to the singing.

Anyways, your encouragement and advice helps, as always :)

You've been getting better. YOU GO GIRL!

Oh YAYUS.

I didn't realise until I watched your videos what a difference there is between me "intoning" the words while I played, and really and truly being a singer.

Wow, what a compliment. Thanks, Mag! I still don't feel I'm a true singer...but I'm working on it :)

Here's two more I posted on FB today in case anyone is interested. Didn't want to clog things up with a another new thread .

The first is another Melissa etheridge, Come to My Window. The start is a little shaky (singing acapella is tough for me) but it gets better as it goes.

The second one is my version of Creep by Radiohead. Drumming needs a lot of work but my goal here was to basically keep a steady beat throughout while singing. Synching up the drumming and singing in this song is deceptively hard. Also, the singing isn't quite as good since it's in a lower range and I'm not great with that but I love the song and am determined to do something with it :)

Either way...listen if you like. I won't be offended if you don't since I've posted others so recently :)

Mary you definitely have what it takes to do this. Your singing is excellent. You aren't just spitting out the words, there is some feeling behind them, and the pronunciation of each and every word is spot on. Your timing is solid drum wise. Even though you have simplified some parts, you appear to be enjoying yourself while singing and playing. You can't really ask for much more than that while you are learning to do both at the same time.
