Conn Settinery

I've become quite a fan of Conn Settinery's approach to playing since being hooked up to the incredible Rebecca Johnson band by Leyland Sklar.

Conn has a really loose yet tight approach - quite the skill! He seems to have zero issue taking some big creative risks - almost (but not quite) to the point of coming apart at times. For me, this is the very stuff of live music, and a real tension skill I'd love to have the spheres to tackle. I'm most envious of his level of comfort whilst playing :)

Other than Conn, Rebecca is the most superb bassist & vocalist. The band usually goes out as a 3 piece, completed by the great rhythm skills of James Vertley on guitar.

Anyhow, here's a couple of examples of Conn's playing. I suggest you listen right through to catch some of his more adventurous moments, especially the 2nd video.

Enjoy, Andy :)
