I've been experimenting alot with 5-stroke combinations between the bass drum and toms/snare mixed with a dynamic paradiddle technique between the bass drum , hihat, snare and toms. Adds a whole new flavor to fills and works amazingly well in a funk/hiphop/soul groove.

I see alot of drummers do fast fills with double bass drum pedals and a million drums all over the kit , but I think if you break it down and focus on techniques, chops and dynamic with less drums you can make it sound 10 times as quick, powerful, and fluid.
