my hand move with my feet, my feet move with my head, my head move with my hand and im all over the place hitting everything at one time....lol
I call this limb independence. I'm working on it also. Just start playing a rhythm slowly and practice every day. Eventually I learn it.

Has anybody mentioned using a metronome (click)? Whatever you play, your timing has got to be good. If and when you play on a kit at a later date, it might feel and sound different, but if your timing is good on a pad it'll be good on a kit too.

I like to break a groove down to just playing on a pad, with feet playing on the floor. It gives me the opportunity to really get the dynamics and rhythmic accuracy right b4 taking it back onto the kit.
