Buzzing sound from snare wires when band mate plays bass

I recently had this problem - so excessive I could barely hear the band - a wall of buzz like a hornets' nest set off by the bass and guitar amps.
Took a while (and some arguments!) to figure out that a small adjustment of the snare wire tension knob cured it.
(They needed tightening a touch)

instead of cutting out the middle snare wires like someone suggested, I put a moongel over the middle wires and that stopped almost all snare buzz while keeping the snare sound! maybe that will help?

Hi everyone

I have an issue with my snare wires where they make a buzzing sound whenever my bandmate plays bass.

I've replaced the snare wires with the PURESOUND Super 30 Series wires and I even took it to a drum shop (they just tightened the tuning). Our bass player doesn't really have his settings on a stupid level, so I'm not sure it's his fault. I'm adamant it's the snare drum and is fixable.

Does anyone have any tips or tricks?

Thanks in advance :)
it cant be avoided when the bass amp is 5 ft away. Just turn off the wires when u arent playing. When u and the band are playing nobody will notice except you. Ive never had an audience member come up and mention snare buzz.
