Huh I was using Sweetwater before Amazon-I miss the free candy LOL. But the wife has some business account and encouraged me to order from them. I'm going to compare and check it out.

So does mine. His name is Stuart and calls every couple months. Also calls as follow up to my purchase to make sure all is good. Great service. Guitar Center on the other hand, doesn't even have drum knowledgeable people working the department. Went there one day to buy a new throw off and asked the guy if they had a DW mag throw in stock. I kid you not, he responded "I'm not sure. What's it used for?" CASE CLOSED
On the other, other hand... Guitar Center sends me a 15% off coupon off of any single item every month.
I think it's unrealistic to expect any retail floor employee to know more than me about anything that I'm passionate about so I never expect a visit to guitar center to be a learning experience.
Sweetwater is definitely more pleasant overall though for sure. They just have a more modern business model which works better than trying to maintain bloated retail stores filled with the only employees that the business model can afford.

I use those coupons to buy sticks each time they email me one.

Been there done that, they try to overcharge you if you dont catch it, if you do then they say no problem we will price match . i thought music stores were suposed to support the musician in the field ?? not play LETS MAKE A DEAL ! MY story : i was in a hurry ,bought an 14 " remo resonant hazy hd in one of their stores they charged me close to $20 for it. when i took a better look ,noticed SWEETWATER had it for around $12. called GC customer serv the guy there says I DONT KNOW MAN ? i told him if you dont know ,who does, and hung up. called store and they were my best friend and said we price match and gave me a refund for $8 ,not a way to run an air line. SWEETWATER very professional, and they treat you like a musician, good prices , i try to buy most things from them. THANKS

Being a small business owner myself , I try and go to the smaller mom & pop shops myself for obivious reasons . I"ve never had a problem with Amazon or GC , granted GC stores are huge with a wide variety and have always been higher priced but you can get what you want hands on most of the time but you pay for that if you dont wanna wait as i sometimes dont want to especially when i get a wild hair and the mom & pop shop dont have it. lastly if all else fails i"ll order thru Amazon or Sweetwater and wait 3 to 5 days or longer.
