So about a month ago I bought a used cymbal from GC and it was a total dud; consensus here is that it must have been put in an oven.
Yesterday another crash arrived and it was very badly warped all around the edges. I put in on a flat surface and almost no part of it was flush against it.
I have been buying used cymbals for 20 years and have never had this type of issue. Most of that has been in person so I inspected the cymbal prior to purchase. But even on Ebay I have never had an issue.
The problem with GC is that they label products either Excellent, Great, Good, Fair or Poor but they give no explanation as to why they are categorized as such. One of the cymbals I bought was listed as good, and the other as fair. On the fair one, some of the lettering was worn so I assumed that was the issue, I never imagined it would or could be warped like it is.
Anyone else have an issue with GC's used cymbals? I am ready to cease purchasing used items from them ever again.
