BIG NEWS: Pearl FINALLY Makes an L-Arm Tom Holder

I think the new mount is kinda nice. I'm not going to now go out and buy a Pearl kit just because they changed the mount. However, the old tube mount was the single biggest reason I could never bring myself to buy one of their kits. I'm guessing that I would've at least tried a Pearl kit if they'd done this in, say, 1995 or so.

It's still not ball-and-socket though.

Same impressiin I had. They went halfway there. C'mon guys/girls, it's not as if we don't already know what works best.

You need a key to adjust your toms? 🤨

Huh probably had leftover arm parts from their Rhythm Traveler POD. I still have mine and love the arms (holds a cymbal and arms great for wood block, cowbell, etc) and kick drum is lil cannon-the rest is rubbish . They have ball and socket for adjustment too. It's like Get Smart-"I was that close".

Looks like a memory lock. My Premiers have that feature, and a ball and socket.

Oh, I see what you're saying. The horizontal portion of the L. Yes.

Haven't seen the back side of it yet if there's any wing nut, so I was wondering. How does it look on your Premiers - do you have a picture of it?

BTW does the link in the first posting work for you guys? I'm getting a 404 and can't find anything by navigating there manually, only the good ol' tubes.

My lock is on the up portion of the arm which I think is also on the Pearl arm. I didn't initially see the horizontal part with the drum key bolt only. Yeah, that's too fiddly.

Thanks a bunch! There it reads "Lock in any angle with a single turn of one drum key bolt."

and oh btw

"offers solid performance without the long-term deterioration that besets standard nylon ball-in-socket holder systems."

they had to knock ball and socket on their way out.

What is that deterioration 1000 years?
yes, I know, they do get marked, but haven't had deterioration to amount to much
