I've played all sorts of pedals during my years of playing(since 1964). My bass drums are a 1965 14 X20 Ludwig Classic, 2008 16 X 26 Palmetto, and a Mapex 14 X 22 I bought to use as a "beater kit." None are ported, none have any dampening, just good old Remo heads, batter loose, reso tight.

No use for Slingerland, Gretsch, Premier or Rogers pedals. Sloppy. Fall apart, just bad use of metal. Just my preference......can't love or tolerate everything!
