Aquarian Hi Frequency Coated ?

One of our local drum shops had a "sidewalk" sale a few mos. back at which time I bought an Aquarian 10" Coated High Frequency batter for one of my rack toms. I play a Yamaha MCAN kit which was manufactured by Sakae, most likely in 2009, as I bought them in early '10. I normally like Remo Coated Ambassadors on my rack toms, but for $5 (US), I figured I'd give this a try. So far so good, and quite similar to the Coated Ambassadors. Anybody have any experience with this particular Aquarian model?

My Gretsch 5.5x10 Free-floating snare had one on it when I purchased it. I found it to have a high pitched but slightly muted plastic ping to it, far different than a Remo/Evans coated batter. It was reminiscent of Kevlar marching batters. This prompted me to change it out almost immediately. It sits somewhere in my pile-o-heads....

I do! The Aquarian High Frequency HF14BK,WT, or Clear This is a 7 mil bottom head thinner than a 10 mil single ply - typically this is not a batter head it is a thinner head for rezo, Aquarian has had this head for over 30 years and I believe about 2 years or so Evans came out with one calling it reso 7. I guess you could use it as a batter head but it would prob sound funny and it would prob split fast using a 7 mil as batter.
