Anyone use the Tama Soft Sound beater on Mesh heads?

Greetings,

I have Remo Silentstroke heads on my kit at my teaching studio. I normally use a soft felt beater on the silent stroke heads (like the default beaters that come on the cheapo/generic/beginner pedals). I was considering using a Vater Vintage Bomber and then I thought of the Soft Sound. My goal is not really to reduce volume (I'm already using a Silentstroke), but to help reduce wear on the Silentstroke and not have the bass drum feel so "springy".

I thought the Soft Sound might be just the ticket. Anyone have any experience with that beater and mesh heads?

Pic attached in case you weren't familiar with these beaters.

Thanks,

V

Don't do that. Silent Stroke heads will eat through the foam on the Soft Sound beaters within minutes. I know that from experience.
