Anyone play Heartwood Drums?

I've made my own drums for 20+ years and never looked back. Aside from making some solid wood stave snare drums I've always used plywood (Keller).

Of every material out there I must admit to being intrigued by Rich Ferdolage's Heartwood shells - shells cut concentrically from one tree.

Very expensive. I had him price me a set (9 shells). !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Just wondered if anyone here owns them or has played them.

Oops. Forgot the link if anyone's interested:

Interesting, hadn't heard of either of these builders before, both shells look great!

Nice stuff from both companies. I can see why the shells are expensive.
