Im looking for a picture of a world max (or other bb copy such as the pork pie bob et. al) seam where the shell has been welded. My phone updated and all I get is ads and when searching. Thank you!

I’ll have to take my head off (!) and come back to you; may I enquire as to the purpose?:)(y)

I may or may not have bought a used Black Beauty sight unseen for a stupid price from Guitar Center. When I bought it, they hadn’t even posted pics of it yet, but it was such a great price in the exact size I wanted I could not pass it up. I did call them, and it does in fact have the brass badge instead of the blue/olive badge, but the salesman wasn’t a drummer and couldn’t tell me much more about it. It was listed as being in great condition. I wanted to find a pic of a seam so I can make sure it’s not a decoy when I get it. I’ve never seen a seam in a world max, so I just wanted to see what it would look like and to see how obvious it is.

It should arrive on Monday.

I couldn’t get a good pic through my Remo snareside as it was barely noticeable so you might have to take the batter head off to check the seam…good luck!:)(y)

Here you go. You'll definitely see it.

Also, at least on my pork pie big black, the bearing edge is a little narrower and sharper than Ludwig's.

If it's a Ludwig Black Beauty it will not have a seam, as least as far as I know they're seamless.

Exactly. That’s why I wanted to see a pic to see if the seam was obvious and what to look for in case I received an imposter.

Now this is interesting. As I recall, the seam on my Worldmax snare was a little hard to find because it was finished so well. Now I have to get it out tomorrow and take off the head just to satisfy my curiosity.

Yep mines the same as you guys. The finishing is superb on ours by the looks.

Maybe an older version of a Worldmax?

I can see how someone might pass a Worldmax shell as a black beauty, they are very easy to customize, and to the untrained eye!

Ok, it must have been low light the last time I looked, because in bright light, I spotted it right away. This is from a Worldmax-branded 5x14 shell.
