Alesis strike pro se hi hat pedal issue

I get a lot of false triggers when playing the hi hat with the foot pedal. I’ve tried adjusting some trigger settings but they don’t seem to make a difference. I don’t have the problem when playing acoustic cymbals with the same hi hat stand.
what else can I try ? Thanks.
