Album of my early 80s band - Classic rock/Oz rock

The old band had some really good original songs but our singer was into making simian mating display calls ... Oooh! ... uh! .... huh! etc. Finding a program called Ultimate Vocal Remover made it possible to remaster some of these old tracks. It doesn't extract vocals perfectly, but it's pretty good.

A few of these tracks came from a ridiculous ten hour studio session to record seven songs for a demo. Our manager/engineer had a meltdown at and we waited around for 8 hours while he became increasingly angry that "nothing worked". Uh huh. In the end, we had to play seven songs in two hours, first or second takes, with no time for dubs or post production.

There's also some live tracks.

If any sound gurus here can give advice about improving the mastering, I'm all ears. Balancing bass, low mids, mids, high mids and tops into a pleasing overall sound is tricky business!

Well that was a fun listen. I didn't have Timmy's got a coffee, but it was still really good.

Kinda Blues Traveler meets Inxs..meets The Turtles horn section. That stuff could make a come back!.
It wouldn't surprise me if classic rock made a comeback. Since doing this mixing job I've been listening to more Oz rock and classic rock, and loving it. Music has been pretty corporatised, so we can maybe expect some retro movements ... about 40 years late for this band, though :)
