I read about Randy Travis and his AI "recording" last month by accident - thought it might be appropriate here.
FWIW, in my opinion at least, I don't think it sounds like Randy Travis - the voice is a bit too nasal and the phrasing/breathing are not in keeping, from what I recall. I don't know how best to describe it. Though it sounds human, it sounds forced or in my colloquial terms, "squashed and pressed into a box of a certain size and shape." I'm betting they could do better with a human impersonator - sorta like Arnel Pineda and Steve Perry from Journey - but then you couldn't call it "Randy Travis."
Quite the conundrum, I guess.
