I'm sure eventually AI will turn the world into the Terminator or the Matrix if we don't beat them to it but this is just cool!

Is everyone else a bit torn on what to think with A.I, too?
 
It's a novelty at the moment......

But there's a mockumentary about Disney that's narrated by an A.I generated David Attenborough on YouTube.

It is simply jaw-dropping.

It sounds exactly like him.

But yeah..... goodness knows how A.I will unfold in the future.....scary.
 
local pessimest/reality guy here:

humans are not smart enough, or moral enough, to deal with AI....sort of like all of the other destructive things we have harnessed "for good".

I think AI could possibly be the "meteor" that will cleanse the Earth this time around if we are not careful. It's only check is the need for electricity to survive. The scary thign is that AI has no inherent possibility for empathy. Even programmed in empathy is different than organic empathy. No matter what we think, we will never completely recreate the processes of the organic brain

at our high school, the teachers have now gone back to completely written testing. Nothign is done on computer anymore for actual testing. The kids got so bad at cheating the systems with the computers in the past few years, with AI pushing it overboard last year, we invoked the ultimate "no" to technology.....turn it off.

Trust me, that's been the goal all along for the top power players in the world. Not for normal people, it isnt. But for tptb, it is the one ring to rule them all.

I'm not torn about it at all. It's a certainty.

we are all pawns for sure....even the ones who think they aren't....are.

I feel better about knowing that I am, and just living my life.

A person doesn't get to their levels without getting __it on your hands, or worse.
 
Would be interesting to see the actual prompting to get the 'changed' song.

An expert system isn't needed to do this...just some samples and a nice envelope follower.

Wonder how much slight of hand is happening?

This reminds me of legendary Jerry Garcia's comments about rap-it isn't music. I think rap music is some 8 billion dollar industry-so sure sells like music. I think AI will be mixed in all kinds of Art forms-still some person will be behind it using it in creative ways. It's like how Photoshop changed everything.

It turned out that social media was too much for human nature to handle too: amplifying the worst and giving power to sociopaths, psychopaths, narcissists and sadists in ways they could never have dreamt of.
The torrent of hatred that is politics now could never have formed without this injection of poison.
And the explosion in teenage anxiety, social contagion and suicide matches the mass adoption of smart phones and social media.

I should have qualified it change scientific research publication. Before Photoshop we had an issue with PAGE 1 and 2 D gels having artifacts, and also immunoblots. With photoshop I'd just erase an artifact-perfect gel or blot every time. We would perform multiple ones in hopes of one with fewer artifacts. Then if we had a purified standard we could perform quantitative immunoblots using the densimetric potential of PS. Even if no standard you could perform relative quantitation. Also it use to be we submitted photographs glued into document for publication (the publisher would photograph the images). Photoshop changed scientific publications in the best way.

social media was like the missle that broke down the wall...

I think it will be known as a historical game changer in many negative ways
 
Should be FOSbook because it’s definitely full of it. I don’t know how they could censor or ban since a majority equal in misinformation or bull crap. It’s sad it went from people posting pics for family and friends to a Wild West of cow patiies - watch your step. Our local newspaper had an online forum thst similarly turned to a crapfest. I was bummed I didn’t get to see Zuck and Musk duke it out. This reminds me of talent or effort thread. I’m not really seeing either in either more luck and opportunism but that’s just me.
