Not sure as to their warmth - I've never tried them.

Light weight, thin shells, and roundover edges are probably going to cost a bit if you go with an off the shelf set.

That is correct.

Although they habe some warmth in them.

You can add coated heads so you get more warmth and have projection as well.
My experience with oak is that the tone is punchy ,round and warm.
If I were playing in a Beatlesqe vocal group ,it would be a perfect cpmplement as the tom character is almost melodic.
The Ludwig oak and Yammie just have a presence that maple and birch do not have.
