Set up that's in between mesh volume and full volume

When I had mesh acoustic, I built up the sound with masking tape strips on the underneath, gradually covering more of the area to increase the sound. Worked well if I remember.

How best to get started with VST-e-drumming ( + avoiding bad purchases)

Those Alesis phones as good as the Vic Firth, or better? I would also recommend trying the TCS Yamaha pads.

    Alesis Strata Prime

I tried my Alesis kit module with the Yamaha DTX Pro X hardware as I prefer the TCS pads but couldn’t get the hi hat and choke functions to work together as that to me would have been the ideal combination; the Strike had excellent kits as standard and the module was easier to use out of the box.

    Alesis Strata Prime

The strike pro x had excellent kits as standard but I had frozen module and cymbal sensitivity issues. Hope they’re ironed out for that price. Does look really user friendly though.

what are some future predictions you think will happen to future e drums

Yes I’ll look there but I’m wary they’re mostly processed for marketing reasons rather than actual sounds I’d hear at home.

what are some future predictions you think will happen to future e drums

I’ve tried a big powered speaker, still very disappointed . Until someone can definitely gaurentee headphone type quality I’m not going down that route again! I mean an unprocessed video demonstration of the ekit through the speaker.

what are some future predictions you think will happen to future e drums

From a novice play along hobbyist aspect, I was horrified at the poor quality sound I managed to eventually coax out of my basic (superstar, stage custom etc) kit even while trying many different heads. Much down to my inexperience of course, then came the dinner plate sounding cymbals, then...

Interested in playing drums again after 37 years of not playing . Question concerning Electronic Drums . Is the Alesis Nitro Max 8. $400 Good Deal

My first ekit was that Nitro and I found it too low in the first place and agree with others- get a better used kit.

    Opinions please

Had them all. Dtx 6 I didn’t like the rubber Tom pads. Had the alesis pro se- great sounds, module froze, cymbals difficult to find sweet spot- had to use them upside down. Agree about the size of pads being relatively unimportant after a while. The Yamaha will always win for me with the...

I looked seriously at the Mimic, but found out it can’t work pro with Yamaha dtx pro x hi hat so compatibility needs consideration .

    Having fun with my e-kit.

Great, so it’ll record video and audio my playing along on to my iPhone/iPad straight from my subscribed playlist? This is what I’m after.
