Very Cool Read !!! " These 25 Drummers Didn’t Just Play, They Revolutionized the Beat!"

Unfortunately, even though he lived until the 1970s, the prime of his career was before modern recordings were much of a thing. You can hear him on Louie Armstong recordings, among others. But I suspect the bulk of his best playing is simply lost to time, either never recorded or recorded...

Very Cool Read !!! " These 25 Drummers Didn’t Just Play, They Revolutionized the Beat!"

My thought as well. Nothing against Chad, he's an awesome drummer, but he's not exactly playing anything that hasn't been played before. Sheila E was a weird inclusion. The biggest omission IMHO was Zutty Singleton, who was (one of) the 1st drum set players to make a name for himself...

I never knew it got so bad

Eh, so. He's not trying to entertain drummers. He's trying to entertain the audience enough while the rest of the band takes a break.

    Would you rather?

This depends on what you value more: Playing live often or creativity. Cover bands can be fun for a moment, but to me, they're not nearly as satisfying as playing something original.

Was offered the job and then...

I have zero issues with his rules. In fact, it would make me more excited to work with this band knowing they are such professionals with high standards.

    Neil is to blame...

    Exactly.

Tim “Herb” Alexander Quits Primus — Danny Carey Subbing

I dunno. Brain and Herb are two completely different drummers. Brain got the gig because he was a long-time close friend of all the guys in Primus (including Herb), but it was always understood he wasn't going to play like Herb. So I think that's why they didn't play the back catalog much at...

Tim “Herb” Alexander Quits Primus — Danny Carey Subbing

Would Brain Mantia come out of drummer retirement? He's kept a relatively low profile in the drumming world since GnR, focusing mostly on jingles and sound tracks. Great drummer though.

    Neil is to blame...

I don't understand "blame" Blame implies something bad happened. Well, other than the St Anger album, That was bad,

The "new" wave of fake drumming epidemic

For the longest time, I have had 100% the same opinion. I grew up wanting to play in a band in front of people. It's why I hated karaoke when it became a thing, just go join a bnad if you want to sing!! And if you did through the drummerworld archives, there are plenty of posts of me saying...

Tim “Herb” Alexander Quits Primus — Danny Carey Subbing

So weird that he couldn't even call his bandmates.

    Zildjian Impulse

I did apply for a job with Zildjian and Sabian before. lol

    Where's Bo?

That never stopped him before. He's been banned under like 5 different user names over the years. lol

    Where's Bo?

He's probably busy selling off the drum kit he bought last month. He'll be back with his new "forever" kit.

    Zildjian Impulse

I always saw them as Z's answer to Paiste Rudes, at a cheaper price point. The line didn't last long. They were only in production for maybe 2 years. Hence why you rarely see them. Not many were made. I assume they sold poorly, as Zildjian pretty much erased them from ever being talked about.

Metallica - 72 Seasons Tour Kit Rundown

The Platinums had such a different look. They didn't look anything like a highly polished cymbal.

I thought it was embarrassing the interviewer couldn't tell the difference between Zildjian Plantimums and Zildjian brilliant finish cymbals.

Original Foreigner Drummer Skips Hall of Fame Induction Over "Scheduling"

My guess is because the HOF told him how much/little he would perform with the band in favor of the all-star melody that did appear.
