    Jim Gordon

I've listened to this song forever. The switch from brushes to sticks is a seamless thing of beauty.

Nick, thanks for the informative rundown on your gear. I've used Aquarian and Ahead Hybrid AB sticks. Both winners. Good luck on your tour, and safe travels.

What Is The Definitive Preference Between DW 5000, Pearl Eliminator or Tama Iron Cobra?

    1) Iron Cobra 2) Eliminator 3) DW 5000 I have played an IC for 25 years now, so I have the most experience with it. The Eliminator I've owned for 10 years (pre-Redline model) and don't find myself playing it as much. I tend to go back to the IC the most. The only experience I have with the...

Updated Regal Tip Thread October 2022-Latest News?

This was also my experience with the new Jazz model. They went with a centerless grinding method of manufacturing, and I guess they did away with the black plastic dipping rod for applying the finish. I didn't notice much change in the finish, however.

Updated Regal Tip Thread October 2022-Latest News?

Unfortunately, there hasn't been much change to the website since I purchased some shake out brushes in mid-May of this year. Just wish they would sell the company, its brands, capital equipment, and goodwill, so someone with deep pockets and abilities can perpetuate the company. It's clear...

    Sticky evans heads

Just curious as to how old the heads were, and when did this unfortunate phone call take place? Sorry you had to deal with all that wasted money and poor quality of products/service.

If you only have one crash cymbal, what size is it?

What heads are you using, and what tuning ranges do you find best? I find my MCX favors mid to higher tensions. It doesn't do as well with lower tunings given its thick shell.

Roc N Soc Round or Tractor ?

I have the pneumatic tractor style seat and their round version. Since I sit with my thighs just above parallel to the floor and sit back further than a lot of players, I find the saddle type is best for me. I will say the round style is more plush, and would be better for someone over, say, 175...

Restoring a Pearl World Series partial kit

I still have my Coral Red 1987 set which sounds great and still looks great. My first set of pro drums. 8×10/10×12/11×13/16×16/16×22 power depth, with original steel 6.5×14 snare. Love it.

Miracle Product: All Purpose Drum Detailer

I bought a bottle of this last year, and it is absolutely great. I too have a SS Noble and Cooley 7×14 clear maple finish, and a piano Coral red Pearl set, and between the Music Nomad and Vater's Spray shine with carnuba, I have no need for anything more. I used Martin guitar polish for many...
