    Foot technique

Here's a video with the same pad angles, different technique, more full beater path. But yea the other technique in the OP, you're right it doesn't pull the beaters that far back, it's one of the reasons I was curious if it's worthwhile to keep practicing it.

To be honest the angles felt pretty good. I had it angled that way since the way the trick's weight and hoop clamp is, it would lift off the ground after taking the velcrow off from playing on an exercise mat. Maybe I'm wrong but I don't see why an acoustic couldn't be angled the same way.

I can, it seemed easier for me to do with the trick pedals with some shoes that gripped better. I sold them cause i didnt feel great about the compression spring for slower feely stuff. Pls ignore that Tom at the end lol..

Can I ask, any idea what it means when you cork twist towards the left foot? Thanks so much, I'll look into that. I think it makes sense that independence will allow relaxation.

I think what I'm gonna do is take your advice and learn a little swing. I'd be willing to bet the hihat independence will def help with double bass. When I first started drums I had a teacher, an orchestra player in Belgium. He watched me play both heel down and up and suggested I learn heel...

    Foot technique

That's one thing I never mastered was independence with my left foot keeping time with the hihat. I totally respect people that can do that. How did you learn independence with the time keeping on the open/close? And maintain the beat with the right foot?

    Foot technique

Maybe I misread, Do you mean to keep both heels off pedal but at same time focus on the heel being a ground point?

    Foot technique

I think also what's important is strong core so we maintain our balance. I think that's a huge part of at least my issues. Also angle of our footboard and the resistance of the spring to support our balance/weight.

    Foot technique

What's the theory behind this? I've always read it's important not to have a kickstand, and that the stabilization should be coming from your position on the throne

    Foot technique

I definitely can relate to that. I first got into metal with slipknot when starting double pedal. It was so fun to just go nuts to. Now I have this twitch on the left foot when doing left singles and causes me to double if i dont warm up slowly. Warming up carefully helps I suppose. But yea, I...

I hope. I've been thinking of quitting. Trying to learn heel toe has been more difficult than I thought it would be.

Is this technique a dead end road or does it have potential?

    Pedal Settings Matter

Here's a before and after video, me making subtle changes to the angles of the footboard and beater. Many times I feel frustrated that I make progress and then fall back, and I wanted to mention that pedal settings can be overlooked. It is such a delicate situation of finding that balance of...

Pedals which have the rounded bass drum hoop clamps

Just to let anyone know, the trick dominators clamp is wobbly with the I had to place some drum books under the left corner as the double pedal needs to be clamped towards the right side

Most Identical Acoustic Feeling Electronic Kick

Hey so I just bought a 24" used precision co keppler maple 🍁 and looking for mesh heads and an external trigger... Recommendations? Should I have double mesh heads? Or beater side mesh and acoustic resonance? Trying to keep the price for the whole setup under $300, the drum was already $100...

Most Identical Acoustic Feeling Electronic Kick

Thanks everyone. What about physics wise? For someone that wishes to learn 300bpm, I feel physics of an acoustic type rebound would be important. Especially if looking to being able to take that technique and move it to an acoustic bass drum. Bermuda, you mentioned you use a rubber beater, does...

My friends expensive electronic drum kit stopped working under my care. What can I do now? (

Not sure taking the module apart is a good idea if the kit was someone else's.
