Avoiding or Removing "hiss" from my recorded tracks......help

Glad you've got it sorted. Gates change sound because when you set the threshold it may take away some attack and also some of the decay based on release levels.

Avoiding or Removing "hiss" from my recorded tracks......help

Use caution with Gates they can totally change your sound. If you're getting noticeable noise look at your interface or the power going into that interface even if that's from a PC. Check your grounding etc. Do it quickly or you'll lose passion for what you're doing. Don't cheap out on...

    Keyboardist woes

They say keyboard players are last to get the ladies/men perhaps let some filter down this time around to keep him/her focussed. The message was approved Woke by a major corporate shaving utensils brand.

    I suck

You're not going crazy. My guitar sounds different at different times of the day. Usually better in the morning and when the sun just sets. Unless we're both crazy.

    blood blister

Normally they come from a good old whack not from a build up of minor hits. Did you catch it on something perhaps? Adrenaline etc.

    Using an iPad at Church

Does he have Apple shares is my first thought. I'd imagine any kind of cheap Android device would work as well. Plenty of apps would have autoscroll.

    My drummer

If you do continue with him for a bit longer , next time you all rehearse face together. Now try a bit more to play off each other. If there's no eye contact and his body language is closed then start to turn your volume down and keep going until it's completely silent. Is he still playing or...

Lead singer first forays into the drums

I don't tend to have problems with drummers they've all tended to be decent. Our last one turned up for an audition with us all. Meaning we were all on trial and we all made decisions whether we wanted to play together. It was 2 hours of no material but it just worked some how as jammed along...

Lead singer first forays into the drums

I noticed that drummers all seem to get along. They talk to each other about kit and stuff and are really nice to each other. While on the dark side of the force we wished each other luck and then tried to overshadow each other. I used to live for the look of fear as the headliners stepped up...

Lead singer first forays into the drums

I'll post up some sound when they come however i should warn you that the room won't be treated well. B20s were always on my mind because I felt they had less complex overtones. Looked at Wuhans but the delivery charges were too high.

Lead singer first forays into the drums

Will do quoted a few weeks for delivery but I'll do it as soon as they get here. Next job which will be tough is to get them sounding good via mics and of course tuning. I'll no doubt be back here for some good tips on that. I got turned on to maple for some reason while working with samples. I...

Lead singer first forays into the drums

Hello all, I've been lurking here for a few months reading through all your posts and going through your sock cupboards. As the title suggests I've been a lead singer in a few bands nothing noteworthy but it's been fun. I write my own stuff and bought a cheap Akai pad to add dampled drums to...
