Looking for Information about drummers who recorded with Acrolite

That's what Kenny told me when I talked with him. He used it almost exclusively on the Scarecrow album also.

    Pure common sense

Lots of good, common sense advice here. Thanks for posting. I think I'd get along fine with that bass player.

Do you buy heads just to have spares?

I always have spare heads in every size, some of which remain in the car for emergencies. I have bought slightly used heads to keep as spares for a few bucks. You never know when you might need one.

What do you guys think about "smack stacks"?

I've yet to hear any of these that really sound like authentic clapping. I think it would be useful for a song or two, but not at the prices I've been seeing. I could likely create something like this out of cymbals I already own.

Picked up some original logo Sabian’s

Good purchase. Going 100% Sabian was the best cymbal move I've ever made.

Got the Broadkasters out of storage

Gretsch drums look good in red sparkle. Nice groove.

First time in NYC, what’s good?

I've heard about New Haven pizza. I'm tempted to make a trip up there just to try some out.

First time in NYC, what’s good?

It's not cal It's not Steve Maxwell anymore. Don't know the name, but I'm sure it's online.

Have you ever seen one of these cymbals?

That's likely what it is. Notice the name of the high school scratched on the underside of the bell. I'm sure this cymbal saw many football games or spring concerts.

    Sorry newbie questions

I recently bought a Roc 'N Soc bicycle seat for my DW throne base, and it's made a big difference. No more pain in my ass!

    Sorry newbie questions

There are always decent quality used drumsets for sale. If you check Facebook Marketplace and Craigslist, you'll find many choices. Same with used cymbals. I'm echoing what others have said, but do yourself a favor and buy professional quality cymbals: Sabian, Zildjian, Paiste, Meinl and other...

    Sorry newbie questions

If it's your first drumset, get REAL drums and cymbals, and not those electric pads.

Dave Weckl - Rainy Day (Drum Cover)

I believe that's the OP in the video, not Dave.

    Roxy snare drums restoration

I'll be curious to see how these drums turn out after restoration. They're pretty skanky looking as they are.

Why are DW drums so overpriced?

I agree with Bo. Shut the damn thread down. It's been discussed to death. Threads like this are so divisive. There are lot of great drums out there, and It's all personal preference. Get over it.

    Pronunciation thread

As far as I know, these are all correct. I've always said Eye-Oat. That's the way Ray Ayotte pronounced it when I met him at NAMM. And no, it's not So-Nar. That drives me crazy. Even David Raouf said Sonar in a video he made. The German pronunciation of Ludwig is Lood-vig. The name was...

    Having fun on stage

I can tell after a few songs when everything settles in and the band is happening. That's when I know the night is going to go well, and I can relax and enjoy it.

    And it was amateur hour!

We've all done stuff like this. I discovered that you could use your car's floor mats if you leave the rug at home. On other occasions, I've been able to beg, borrow or steal what I needed. I always have extra mics in my bag, extra sticks in the car, and more. I too have made a checklist.
