    Restoring Cymbal Logos

Yes, excellent point. But being on the other side of the world presents little threat. But I get it.

    Hardcase for stands, etc

I have a softcase bag with wheels for my chrome stuff, but finding it awkward to handle. I am looking at the HardCase range (40" with wheels), and they seem pretty good at a glance. Any comments on this line of products, or a better alternative.

China/Trash Cymbals - to have, or not to have

I play in a covers band, and the drummer I am "covering" occasionally uses a china/trash. As we are trying hard to get as close as possible to the original sounds, I would be using it sparingly, but it does play a small part.

China/Trash Cymbals - to have, or not to have

A variety of opinions (to be expected!). If I was to get one, the Zildjian 18" Oriental Trash, or the Zildjian 18" China High have the most appealing sound to me.

    Restoring Cymbal Logos

The advantage of a spray is that you dont have to worry about the grooves, but I feel an ink is the better medium, as it does not apply as much material, which many say can change the sound.

    Restoring Cymbal Logos

I believe isopropyl alcohol is the best cleaner for a metal surface. A few people have said that you need an etch primer that is supposed to bond to the metal surface. If that is the case then theoretically the finish paint itself does not even have to be suited to metal, as it is adhering to...

    Welding a cymbal

Good job. I presume with a laser, the head would be less than other alternatives, so less chance of warping or cracking.

    China/Trash Cymbals - what for ?

I am always on the lookout for cymbals to add to my lineup. When I hear the sound of the China models, I wonder why they would be incorporated into a kit setup. Yet companies like Zildjian make a few different sizes and models. Anybody use them?

    Restoring Cymbal Logos

Many thanks. Being in Australia makes the shipping requirement cost prohibitive. But I have emailed the company to see if they can give me some guidelines on the type of ink they use.

    Restoring Cymbal Logos

Not wishing to enter into the debate on whether to keep or remove logos. Just interested in any experiences with restoring logos. Technique, paint brand, ink brand?

    Crash/Ride Cymbals ?

I just procured a Zildjian A 20" Crash/Ride, and love it. If Zildjian specifically market a Crash/Ride model, tha'ts good enough for me. And comparing it to a crash you can ride, or a ride you can crash, it is superior in its characteristics.
