That's what I use, too. I can also fit a small kit and a pair of tympani. Unfortunately they have been discontinued so they are only available used.

I have a student who is a "stick shredder". I gave him a new pair of Vater sticks less that a month ago when I took away his old shredded sticks. I don't know if he is playing on cinder blocks or what. At least he's practicing. We are going to try something new, though. Stay tuned.
