What's the worst drumming advice you've ever received?

Ha! I think the worst advice is that 1x a week practice with the band. Once upon a time 3x was the norm

    Dropping sticks

For the longest time I had a stick dripping habit that drove me insane! Until I tried using a traditional hand position on the snare. Haven’t dropped a stick since! Incase anyone is having the same problem try switching stick holding grip

    How's business where you live?

Music that doesn't stand the test of time for you

I’m right there with you and am ashamed to admit I once owned a pair of parachute pants! O.o Back then I didn’t know of the genre titled heavy metal. When I was 14 I was offered a free ticket to a band called Rush! And I declined!! Ugh. I still cringe at the commercial crap from the 80”s

    For the nostalgia threads

I agree with your last statement. It’s been my experience that the songs you pick practice and play as musicians, they lose that nostalgic fond memories to a deeper uderstanding of music in general

    Drum discoveries

So I’m back to playing drums after a 20 year hiatus. And basically having to re learn a lot of what I’ve forgotten. I was practicing today and was pissed off and found quite by accident, my shitty cheap 5 piece actually sounds better than it ever has and I was wondering if anyone else has come...

I'm an idiot and feel bad

As a drummer I would NEVER play in a band doing the blues. Vocals? Maybe. Bass guitar? Maybe. I have different playlists for different instruments and you’re not alone there. All band time is good time. Rock on anyway
